In Mali is going on the dissemination of risks’ campaign communication materials in the villages of the AwArtMali project’s intervention municipalities. The roll-out of the communication campaign has start last august and now we are able to share the first report of the activities realized to promote the risks’ campaign.

Third coordination meeting in Cyprus
The 3rd Coordination Meeting for the project AwArtMali – Awareness raising and info through Art on irregular migration risks in Mali took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, on October 3rd and 4th 2019. The meeting was an important occasion for external evaluator Vanessa Conigli to present and discuss the Mid-term evaluation report and the monitoring plan for the project.
AwartMali: italian experts of the Tamat NGO on mission in Mali
A new mission for stakeholder mapping and identification of self-development opportunities in Mali for people at risk of migration. From 25 July to 2 August 2019, an NGO Tamat team will carry out a mission to Mali in the Cèrcle de Kati , Koulikoro region, under the European project AwArtMali, coordinated by Tamat NGO and funded by the Asylum Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) of the European Commission whose main objective is to raise awareness among the population of Mali about the risks of irregular immigration and at the same time to inform on the socio-economic opportunities available in the African country.

Mali within the European project AwArtMali, coordinated by Tamat NGO and funded by the Asylum Migration and Inntegration Found (nAMInFor of the European Commission whose whose main objective is to raise awareness among the people of Mali about the risks of irregular immigration and, at the same time, to inform them of the socio-economic opportunities available in the African country.
AwArtMali second coordination meeting in Barcelona
The AwArtMali coordination meeting met in Barcelona from the 29th to the 30th May. Representatives from Tamat, Giusti Eventi, Congenia, Ismu, Cardet and Instrategies were in attendance in order to report on the implementation and managing of the AwArtMali project.
Earlier this year, Le Tonus, an NGO operating in Mali, was engaged in the project in order to provide local expertise and hands-on experience.
Fight against irregular immigration
The first mission of Giusti Eventi in Mali has been successful to meet the Malian communication agency and the NGO Le Tonus to coordinate the work of the communication strategy. From Saturday, April 28th to Tuesday, May 7th, a mission of the Italian communication agency, Giusti Eventi stayed in Mali. Including Elena Elia and Paolo Saglia, the mission led, with the national NGO “Le Tonus”, three forums in the Kati circle on the fight against illegal immigration.

A European project to fight irregular migration and offer opportunities in Mali. From April 28th to May 7th, experts from Tamat NGO and the Giusti Eventi communication agency carried out a field mission in Mali, to develop and design the communication campaign addressed to the Malian populations, and with the objective to raise awareness on irregular migration towards Europe.
The first mission of Fondazione ISMU
In order for an awareness-raising campaign to be effective, actions should not focus only on information sharing but tailor a strong message to beneficiaries by taking into account their societal issues and structural needs. In this perspective Fondazione ISMU and its Spanish counterpart Instrategies collected data on the characteristics, motivations, information needs and gaps of Malians that have migrated or are likely to migrate through irregular venues as well as their media access and consumption.
